LOGISTICS SPECIALIST II

SUMMARY:

Responsible for program backend logistical support. Analyzes program requirements from a logistical perspective and advises program department of logistical requirements. Interacts with military, government agencies, and industrial contractors. Interprets and applies Department of Defense (DoD) policies and procedures while ensuring critical schedules are met. Handles all shipping and receiving duties. Ensures all marking and packaging requirements are met in compliance with the contract.


RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS:
    • Reviews contractual requirements for packaging, labeling/marking, UID, and transportation to determine appropriate actions to remain in compliance with the MIL-STD-129 and MIL-STD-2073 requirements.
    • Ability to conduct pallet and truck load analysis and order appropriate supplies.
    • Perform internal audits of ICE and non-classified government property in accordance with regulation and other directives.
    • Responsible for incoming and outgoing filing and generation of Government DD1149 paperwork in accordance with Government Property requirements.
    • Coordinates logistics support between ICE and supporting Field Personnel.
    • Coordinates efforts between Depot and field service personnel to resolve logistical problems and ensure contractual requirements are met.
    • Handles onsite surveys, deliveries, integration and operations.
    • Coordinates shipment of products to customers or field representatives as required.
    • Handles all company shipping and receiving.
    • Understands HAZMAT shipping procedures and compliance requirements for air, ground, and vessel.
    • Ensures proper preparation of import/export documents, commercial invoices, packing lists, declarations, and compliance documents with accuracy and in accordance with Government guidelines.
    • Participates in briefings pertaining to Logistics.
    • Establishes and maintains adherence to internal Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
    • Creates and maintains up to date standard work procedures and training documents for all internal logistics processes.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/SKILLS:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
    • Requires 5+ years of shipping experience, domestic and international.
    • Requires 2 years working with a variety of the Field Logistical Support concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Shipping Certifications: IATA (Hazmat Air Shipper) and DOT (Hazmat Ground Shipper)
    • Requires knowledge of the supply regulations and procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulation, and understanding of military supply system; DD1149, DD1345-5 (NOA), GFE Control, UID, MIL-STD packaging and marking.
    • Proficient in MS Office and common software.
    • Requires effective human relations skills, including good listening ability, and the capability to convince others to establish or change precedents.
    • Requires willingness to learn specific knowledge of the job to be successful.
    • Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

Pay Range: $20 - $29.00/hour, DOE
