Inter-Coastal Electronics (ICE) received accreditation for demonstrating their ongoing commitment
to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications.
ICE Apache TESS hardware and associated software will be integrated into the Lockheed Martin Digital Range Training System (DRTS) to add the aircraft player into three live-fire ranges: Orchard Range, Idaho; Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Contract award received to produce 32 AH-64E Apache TESS training systems and mission essential hardware and spares for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence. ICE originally contracted with the UK in 2000 to produce the Collective Training System (CTS) for the Westland Apache Helicopter (WAH).

ICE completed manufacturing, production, and DCMA Government Acceptance Testing of the AH-64E Apache Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) for the Qatar Air Force, including air, ground, and support equipment. This effort was accomplished within a one year time frame per Customer request. Trips are planned to conduct the Physical Audit, Site Acceptance Testing, and New Equipment Training.
ICE completed manufacturing and production of 180 Training Laser Designators (TLD) for the AH-64E MTADS Modernized Day Side Assembly (MDSA) for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control within one year per Customer request. A follow on IDIQ contract was awarded January 2020.
The AH-64E Follow-On Test & Evaluation (FOT&E) II included testing of the Training Laser Designator (TLD) manufactured by ICE and embedded by Lockheed Martin in the MTADS MDSA. ICE provided management oversight for all facets of the program. Efforts included providing pre- and post- test equipment reconfiguration of all GFE assets used to support the FOTE II. Equipment installation and support included four V4 AH-64E, four V6 AH-64E aircraft, and multiple real world threat vehicles to allow force-on-force engagements. Network setup and operations were linked from – Ft Hood, TX – to Snyder Airfield, TX, – to Eglin AFB, FL.
The restoration effort of an Army UH-1C Huey Gunship has been completed and transferred as of Veterans Day, 12 November 2018. ICE donated an indoor space for this effort in January 2017. The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) restored the Army UH-1C Huey Gunship with complete armament systems (demilitarized). The restored static aircraft will be displayed at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Museum in Mesa, Arizona to support Army Aviation history, and to help Vietnam Veterans to better relate their Vietnam experiences.
As part of our goal to seek continuous improvement in all aspects of our business, ICE has made export compliance a priority and is ensuring our employees have the knowledge and tools necessary to find effective solutions to mitigate the risks associated with shipping to and from foreign parties. Export law can be complex and so training is important. Valerie Phillips is one of our Contract Administrators, and our lead export specialist. She completed the four day course offered by the Export Compliance Training Institute®. This covered the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulation (EAR), as governed by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
ICE is pleased to announce the addition of a fifth CNC milling machine to increase rapid prototyping capabilities and production capacity and throughput. ICE is committed to meeting the expectations of our customers, and through further investment in production capabilities ICE has expanded the throughput and quality capability of our machine shop.
ICE has hired a full-time Contract Field Service Representative (CFSR) in Taiwan to provide Longbow Apache TESS training, exercise support and repairs. After one year, he will provide ongoing Contract Logistics Support (CLS) and Depot Repair and Maintenance.
Lifecycle replacement and updates to the JRTC Aviation Network included the addition of new equipment at the Alexandria International Airport Intermediate Staging Base (ISB), replacement of obsolete computers, assessment of the JRTC network infrastructure, and integration of an Aviation Gateway Network Simulator.
ICE completed manufacturing, production and Government Acceptance of the Longbow Apache (LBA) Home Station Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) including air, ground, support equipment and spares. This effort was accomplished within a one year time frame per Customer request. A full-time Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Representative will provide on-site TESS training and support for 1-2 years.
ICE completed audit and certification of our Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance with AS9100D Aerospace Industry Standards. Certification covers end-to-end services from design to manufacturing to fielding of aviation and ground defense systems.
This GSA contract renewed for another five years of TESS Support for the 120th Infantry Brigade at Fort Hood, TX. This five person team has the primary responsibility to provide and maintain a state-of-the-art trained workforce. This includes installation of the Customer's TESS equipment on various helicopter platforms, setup of the telemetry network to monitor and record training activities, and fielding support of instrumented ground Opposing/Blue Forces (OPFOR/BLUFOR). ICE has maintained a permanent presence at Fort Hood since 1998.
